This post is part of the ‘In 7′ photo series., where I share a moment in 7 pictures.
We decided to head to Nashville, Tennesee for a weekend babymoon. Our schedule allowed for 2 full days to take in the city. I spent Friday with my good friend and archaeologist extraordinaire Sneh Patel, as my husband worked. On Saturday, my husband and I had a lazy morning and then set out to explore some of the tourist hot spots of the city.
This trip was the first time I used my new camera (Fujifilm X-T20 w/18-55mm lens). I had no clue what I was doing (and it might show), but I had fun taking the camera for a (blind) spin.
Here are my 7 photos that captured our Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee with a photo-by-photo breakdown below:
My friend Sneh highly recommended checking out Biscuit Love. Since I was nauseated most of my pregnancy, I didn’t have much of an appetite, but their plain biscuit (w/jam) and chronic bacon hit the spot.
Did you know that Nashville has it’s own Parthenon? It was quite surreal seeing it since I lived in Athens (Greece). I appreciated that they painted the friezes as ancient Greek statues and temples were colorful.
A glimpse of our cloudy stroll through Vanderbilt’s campus.
After walking around Vanderbilt, we headed to Music Square. It was pretty quiet, but we saw many buildings that housed stations and agencies devoted to country music.
Around dusk, we headed to Nashville’s Broadway, which is a major tourist atttraction. We strolled around and perused a few honky-tonks (country music bars).
We decided to spend a little time at the Stage because my pregnant self needed to sit and they had seating. I was able to shoot this picture of Broadway from the roof.
We didn’t think ahead and forgot to make reservations for dinner. Most places were booked (makes sense for a Saturday night), but we were lucky that Adele’s had a table for us. I really enjoyed the industrial indoor decor and there was plenty of space between tables. The food was fresh, tasty, and probably the healthiest meal we had the whole trip.
